Vineyards & locations

Winery Paul Weinblatt Decoration White

North of Vienna, where the foothills of the Alps meet the Pannonian Basin, our vines grow on deep loam and loess soils - a place where nature and geology create ideal conditions for viticulture.

The Pannonian-influenced climate brings warm, dry days and cool nights - an interplay of temperatures that is crucial for aromatic ripeness and fresh acidity structure. These daily fluctuations promote balance and elegance in the later wine.

Microclimate & soils

Our vineyards are characterized by an extraordinary diversity of soils:

This combination of microclimate, exposure and soil makes each vineyard unique - and creates the basis for our wines from the Weinviertel region: full of character, elegant and precise.

Ried in the sky

Wines with depth, elegance and origin

Winery Paul Schleife Decoration Gold

Ried Im Himmel is one of the most characteristic sites in our region - characterized by a deep, calcareous soil of loess and loess loam. The subsoil is rich in nutrients, but rather dry and only slightly permeable. These conditions challenge the vines - and this is precisely what makes the wines from this vineyard so special: concentrated, mineral, with depth and elegance. The soil type - a mixture of raw soil and black earth - gives the wines structure and a certain earthiness.
With its south-south-west exposure, the Im Himmel vineyard benefits from intense sunshine well into the evening hours. The microclimate is warm and dry, ideal for a slow, balanced ripening of the grapes - for both white and red wine varieties.

Ried Kirchberg

A powerful expression of elegance and minerality

Winery Paul Schleife Decoration Gold

The Kirchberg vineyard lies on deep, calcareous loess and loess-loam subsoil with a very good water supply and excellent permeability. The soil is typically black earth - a lively and fertile subsoil that produces lively, precise and varietally typical wines.
The south-southeast exposure brings early sun and balanced light - ideal for balanced ripening, where aromas and freshness go hand in hand.

Ried Kreuzenstein

Variety on sandy-loamy terroir

Winery Paul Schleife Decoration Gold

The Ried Kreuzenstein impresses with an exciting soil profile: deep, calcareous loess and loess loam, interspersed with fine layers of sand, form the subsoil of this site. The sandy-loamy soil is rather dry, with medium water permeability - conditions that demand a lot from the vines and thus produce wines with character and substance. The black earth soil type ensures a good supply of nutrients and supports fine aroma characteristics.
Thanks to its south-southwest orientation, the vineyard is optimally exposed to the sun - warm days, mild evenings and an even distribution of light offer ideal conditions for aromatically dense white wines and balanced red wines. The combination of sandy subsoil and limestone-rich depth brings structure, minerality and finesse to the glass.

Ried Neuberg

Concentrated, powerful and clear in expression

Winery Paul Schleife Decoration Gold

The Ried Neuberg stands for distinctive wines with depth and structure. The soil is characterized by calcareous loess and loess loam, with a silty-loamy profile that is very dry and only moderately permeable. These humus-poor soils challenge the vines - they root deeply, fighting for nutrients and water, which leads to lower yields but higher quality. The soil type of black earth and raw soil gives the wines substance, flavor and expression.
The south-southwest orientation of the vineyard ensures maximum sunshine and long ripening phases. The grapes benefit from the dry warmth and the limestone-rich soil - ideal conditions for powerful, dense wines with great ageing potential, both white and red.
